RAF Cosford Air Show 2008 Competition DCAE Cosford, Shifnal, 1 June
For full details and ticket info visit the official website. Thanks to the Airshow Office we have ten pairs of adult tickets to give away! The RAF Cosford Air Show is the Midlands' premier air event - this year will hopefully see the first official display for Vulcan B2 XH558 since 1992, the first public apprearance of the RAF's Role Demonstration for 2008 and the world-famous Royal Air Force Aerobatics Team - The Red Arrows – before they depart to North America for a six-week tour. Already booked for the June event is the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, made up of a Lancaster bomber, Spitfire and Hurricane fighters and a Dakota transport - a quartet recalling the days of the Second World War. Typhoon, now in squadron service with the RAF, is pencilled in to make a return appearance, along with other current combat aircraft including the Hawk, Tutor and Hercules. A number of helicopters, including those operated by the other services, are also expected at Cosford. Appearances by historic aircraft will help make the five-hour flying programme. RAF Cosford Air Show is one of the biggest outdoor events in the Midlands' summer calendar and regularly attracts an attendance of more than 50,000. Two RAF charities are the main beneficiaries - the Royal Air Force Association and the RAF Benevolent Fund. Check out the 2007 show here. There will be non-stop entertainment on the ground with hundreds of exhibits, colourful stalls and trade stands, military demonstrations and road shows – plus food, craft fair, bands, children’s entertainment and much more. All of this makes the air show an attractive day out for all ages and interests from aviation enthusiasts to families seeking a fun day out. Win!! Just answer the easy-peasy question below.
